What I do is turn off all corrections except for Deep Prime. I am using DXO PL 4 to do the same thing that DXO PureRaw does. I guess not many people buy or use it, which is a shame. Compared to the other Topaz AI tools it's no longer seeing any development. But I suspect most users are unaware of the power of Topaz Adjust AI. Personally I think it's great that Topaz Adjust AI combines the former Clarity & Details plugins. I also find Topaz Adjust has more flexibility for Clarity and Details then the raw converters. When Pure Raw came out I emailed DxO and asked if it would enhance my PhotoLab4 and they said no, pure raw is already in use in the upgraded PL4. Also it only applies the result on export. I've also used DEEPprime from DxO and it very good, but does only RAWs. I've done this with a number of older images in my library. That way I don't have to re-import the image into Photos. I use the "OpenWith" Filer function to send the JPEG to DeNoise. I've found that DeNoise works well on JPEG images as well. I keep my processed JPEG images organized in Photos for Mac. I then export the returned DeNoised image and usually then delete the TIFF to save space.

So for those images that need DeNoise, usually just higher ISO images, I export a TIFF to DeNoise with all my Lightroom adjustments applied. I use Lightroom as my primary post processing tool and keep the camera raw images for all my "keeper" images. I would really only suggest gigapixel and denoise. No need to buy a separate sharpening tool.ĭenoise is extremely good. Just enlarge the photo and than scale it back to it's original size. I bought Topaz Gigapixel for enlargement of my gf's artwork for large prints. Once I used DXO PureRaw there was no need for any of the Topaz. I think it would work well on your jet photos. If the result looks too smooth after using this you can use the "recover details" slider. In situations where Denoise AI leaves patches of noise I have found turning on the new "low-light mode" fixes it. I’ve found the same and almost always use Low Light mode now. I do the output sizing in Gigapixel before sending it to QImage for printing. I go from Capture One to DeNoise if needed first before any of the other Topaz tools. I have had the entire Topaz suite for a while.

Plus I own them, plus I still prefer OVF, plus I like my lenses, plus.

Not having to change my workflow is one of the reasons I'm sticking with my. I'm pretty wedded to Lightroom since it organizes my whole raw photo library.

I'm using the Color Fidelity profiles for my M6II and 90D which I find better than Adobe's but still not as good as Adobe's "Camera" profiles for. DxO is probably using the same AI techniques and we are all benefitting. Sometimes its astonishing what it pulls out of the noise. V3 seems to do a really good job of removing noise yet retaining, even enhancing details. And I've learned to use more than the default NR settings. At least for my use - I never go above ISO 6400 and try to stay below. With my M6II and 90D I'm getting Topaz results equal to Glen's DxO results. I could see a real improvement in the NR on these slides using DeNoiseAI V3 vs the earlier version.ĭxO's product may be part of Topaz' motivation for going to V3. I find these much cleaner than those from my scanner. I've been using my 90D and EF-S 35 macro with Nikon ES-1 slide holder attachment to photocopy a bunch of old Kodachrome slides.

Topaz DeNoiseAI has now upgraded to version 3 and was a free upgrade for me.

I suggest using DXO PureRAW first, then ACR Enhance in Photoshop, thenTopaz Sharpen AI. I stand corrected- we have to pay for a new upgrade plan after one year. Now it may not be a free upgrade if and when they go to 3.0 but for now, you pay once and there seems to be updates every couple weeks these days.
